STUDENT PORTFOLIOS FROM ROOM 13 BOSTON: EXCEL HIGH SCHOOL
Below are a collection of student compiled portfolios of the work they completed each week in Room 13 Boston. Each student determines their own learning path & projects in Room 13. Because of this learning style, each portfolio is unique and each project reflects the interests of the individual students.
In our third year at Excel High School, Room 13 is focusing on expanding the number of students participating in the program. We've grown to four classes, and are going to continue to do a Haunted House and Theatrical Production. Students will also be focusing more on selling their work and connecting with professional artists and other Room 13's around the world.
Even MORE materials and a larger group of students were involved in Room 13's second year at Excel HS. There were four classes from the beginning of the year. We did a Haunted House, and the play Prospect HIgh. Students also started a robotics team - the NitroKnights!
More materials and a larger group of students were involved in Room 13's second year at Excel HS. There were three classes from the beginning of the year. We did a Haunted House, and the musical Little Shop of Horrors. The student Board of Directors expanded the program's impact at the school and within the Southie community.
This was the first year Room 13 Boston existed at Excel High School. Room 13 Boston: Excel HS was the first Room 13 in New England. We started with donated materials and furniture and the students and the Artist-In-Residence started building the program together. At the beginning of the school year there was one class period, and by the end there were three.
